History leaves clues. The Hive follows them.
Twenty-six African American women. One newspaper. A past that refuses to stay buried.
From their newsroom on Printer’s Row, the Alpha Bees investigate evidence, trace historical fractures, and confront the consequences those events have carried into the present.
Enter the World
The Alpha Bees are twenty-six African American women whose lives converge around a newspaper on Chicago’s historic Printer’s Row. By day, they report, research, preserve records, and follow the stories others overlook. When history begins leaving fractures in the present, the Hive must determine what happened, why it matters, and whether the past can be repaired.
Each Bee brings her own knowledge, perspective, and role to the investigation—but no repair begins until the evidence has been verified.
